Reiki is an ancient healing technique dating back thousands of years that was rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui a Japanese Buddhist in the late 1800’s. Rei means universal and Ki means life force. This life force energy is present in all living organisms and is all around us. Reiki works by balancing this life energy allowing your body to heal itself.

Reiki can have a very calming effect and some people just have a treatment purely for relaxation even if they are feeling well. Most clients experience a profound sense of relaxation and many report an easing of a specific issue or ailment. Animals can greatly benefit from Reiki as well as humans (and will generally walk off when they have had enough).

Reiki should be used as an addition to conventional medicine. It is not intended to be a substitute for medical care. You should always consult your GP first for ailments and pain of any sort.
